Privacy Policy

Ginger Roots is a family-run restaurant at Unit 5, 1086 Commissioners Rd E, London, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
The short version
- You can browse this site without giving us any personal information.
- We have no accounts, no online ordering and no mailing list, and we never sell or rent personal information.
- If you contact us, we use what you send only to reply to you.
What we collect and why
Website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count visits and measure how quickly pages load. They do not use cookies. They record the page you viewed, the referring site, your browser, device type, operating system and approximate country. Visitors are told apart with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, so we cannot identify you or follow you across sites. We use these figures only to improve the site.
Contacting us on WhatsApp
The "Contact us now" button opens a WhatsApp chat with the restaurant. If you send a message, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and whatever you write. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own privacy policy covers how it handles your messages. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it.
Phone and email
If you call or email us, we receive your number or email address and what you tell us. We use it to answer your question, take a booking or follow up on your visit.
The map
The Hours & location section shows an embedded Google Map. It loads from Google, which may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
Consent
By contacting us, you consent to us using your information to reply. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete your messages.
How long we keep it
We delete WhatsApp chats, emails and call notes once we no longer need them to help you, and in any case within 12 months. Analytics data is aggregated and holds no personal identifiers.
Where it is stored
Vercel, Meta and Google may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law and accessible to authorities there.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within 30 days.
